A long war brings a gradual decline to the world. People disappear from towns, and fish cease to exist in the sea. In a town called Seize five girls guard a fortress and play brass vividly.
The plot revolves around a girl named Kanata Sorami. When she was all alone at a young age as a result of war, she found inspiration in a trumpeter she met. She decides to join the army and become a bugler, hoping to learn well since she is quite bad at it. She is assigned to the town of Seize (based on Cuenca, Spain), where she is taken care of by Rio Kazumiya, her bugler instructor who plays the trumpet, and the rest of the squadron.
Main Charatcers:
Kanata Sorami (空深彼方)Loves the trumpet. She's a new army recruit who enlisted to learn how to play. A bright and positive person, Kanata brims with curiosity and is easily moved. She sometimes has problems reading the atmosphere, but that ignorance causes her to be happy. She has perfect pitch, but her performances still need work. 15 years old.
Rio Kazumiya (和宮梨旺)Kanata's senior trumpeter who gives her guidance. Her field is correspondence. She speaks in a strong-minded and curt manner, but she has a kind disposition. 17 years old.
Kureha Suminoya (墨埜谷暮羽)The platoon's gunner. A new member of the party who also receives Rio's guidance; Kanata's heart burns with rivalry. She's a strong-willed and obstinate person, but she's actually delicate!? 14 years old.
Noel Kannagi (寒凪乃絵留)The mechanic and driver. Taciturn and unresponsive. She spends all her time repairing the Takemikazuchi's gun batteries. 15 years old.
Filicia Heideman (フィリシア・ハイデマン)Platoon captain of the 1211th squad. Tank commander. She is open-minded and tolerant, and she is a good older sister/mother figure to her unit members. She is usually gentle, but she can become strict at a moment's notice. 18 years old.
